Trophy recipient for best local band in Oakland, CA 1976 while performing with Latin Band Alma Latina, lead by David Rangel. He has shared the stage with notable artists and groups such as Coke Escovedo, Pete and Juan Escovedo, Jorge Santana, Roger Glenn (of Cal Tjader fame), Joe Bataan, La Sonora Santanera, Little Joe y La Familia, Tierra, Banda Toro.
Career highlight is the recording of "Seven Gospel Classics in Jazz" released in June/1992. Movie soundtrack recording for remake of "The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari". 2013 collaboration with Mr. Rick Stevens (original vocalist of Tower of Power most known for the hit tune “You're Still a Young Man”) Art became the co-founder and Music Director for the group that eventually came to be known as “Rick Stevens & Love Power”.
